Delta Dental of Oklahoma has free mouthguards available for athletes ages 18 and under who participate in school sports or organized leagues in Oklahoma.
Oklahoma parents, coaches, and league commissioners may submit a request through July 31, 2024, or while supplies last. Orders will be delivered in September.
Mouthguards are a key piece of sports safety equipment, just like a helmet or shoulder pads – but are an underutilized way to lower the risk of sports injuries, including tooth loss. Wearing form-fitted mouthguards not only protect student athletes from damaging and painful injuries, it allows them to feel confident to perform at a higher level.
More than 3 million teeth are knocked out each year in youth sports, according to the National Youth Sports Safety Foundation.
Athletes who do not wear mouthguards are 60 times more likely to damage their teeth
The National Federation of State High School Associations mandates the use of mouthguards in football, hockey, lacrosse and wrestling (for wrestlers wearing braces)
DDOK Foundation selected GAME ON™ mouthguards for our free program so parents and coaches can be confident in the protection they are providing to student athletes.
